Shipfitter (Grades 7 - 9)Job DescriptionThe pay range for this position ranges from $24.
85/hr - $26.
79/hr.
This is an experienced position to work in the Shipfitting Trade.
Applicants will be assigned any S40 trade function, including (but not limited to):
o Fabrication of complex items such as entire deck sections, grating assemblies, critical foundations, etc.
, using fabrication sketches and drawings.
o Installing items on units or on ships including (but not limited to):
machinery components and shafting equipment, ordinance foundations, exterior fittings and railing, etc.
using blue prints.
o Fabricating and installing complex assemblies such as shell plating assemblies onto mocks and ensuring completion of accurate assemblies in accordance with drawings and Accuracy Control plans.
o Ability to work independently and solve daily installation/layout challenges with a minimal of assistance.
Required/Preferred Education/Training Preferred - High School Diploma or GED.
Required - Minimum 2 years in Technical or vocational training in a steel trade.
Required/Preferred ExperienceRequired - Minimum of 2 years of experience in metal fabrication or installation of steel and outfit items.
Required - Must be able to read blue prints in detail.
Required - Must have experience working with metal, hand tools, and power tools.
Required -- Must meet the requirements of the S40 physical task analysis.
This opportunity is located in Bath, Maine.
Relocation is provided to all candidates outside of 100 miles who relocate to the area.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
